Quoting Phil Wright on Friday May 17, 2002: | | I really don't think that the auDA can stand proud in providing information | to the marketplace about the auctions!!! | | For instance the information that you referred to "The auction is in | progress. Take a look at | http://www.auda.org.au/about/news/2002040202.html" | | Kim this article is more than 1 and a half months old!! | Not what I would regard as timely or up to date Well, maybe you're right. But the auctions are still in progress and I don't see any of that information that is really out of date. Given that results of the auctions aren't intended to be published officially until they have concluded - what other information would you like to see disclosed? But on the more general question of auDA's record on "providing information to the marketplace," whilst these things can always be improved at this very moment auDA is beginning some extensive market education including http://www.auda.org.au/about/seminars.html. Considerable effort is being expended in education in the lead up to and after the introduction of competition. auDA doesn't have an excellent track record of public awareness. I think this is more a reflection of auDA's limited role to date. auDA has been an administrator waiting in the wings. Now that things are finally moving on these issues that we all feel passionate about, I would expect increased community awareness and more progress to report. (Lastly, a point I should always make. Speaking in a personal capacity only.) kimReceived on Fri Oct 03 2003 - 00:00:00 UTC
