[DNS] Should this list continue to exist?

[DNS] Should this list continue to exist?

Hi everyone

I like the point that Sean made - to paraphrase: like King Arthur and his knights, the list should remain, awaiting the hour of need for the Australian DNS. In the meantime, David's wonderful weekly posting, occasional resorts to the archives, and even more occasional outbreaks of controversy, give it a useful role.

Regards
Derek

Hey Rod

I'm also an member and I share your respect for the folks at auDA, but that's not the point.

This list pre-dates auDA and has always been independent thereof.

I refer you to Rob Taylor's point below, which is pretty pertinent, IMO.

I think it's important to have an outlet for people concerned about .au domains to have their say, that is not controlled by auDA.

I realise there are other lists/forums that arguably achieve this, but I think this list is worth keeping, as an independent, .au-focused list.

But, that's just my opinion.

cheers
jon

Jon,
I don't think as a member of Auda and knowing the people involved I don't think Auda hosting the list would be a political issue. To be fair to Auda they do have a balanced view and have a respect of the past to the .au history.
I don't always agree with Auda but overall they do a good job.
Having said that as a hosting provider of some size I would as the CEO of the Total Internet Group be happy to host the DNS list going forward as a service to the net community in Australia.
Let me know if you want this to happen Kim?
