John, generally it's not a domain price issue for the registrant. As long as their emails and websites are working, and they're not being harassed by rogues, the average registrant doesn't care. I know that I've used this analogy before, but a domain name is just like a car number plate. I'm more interested that my car keeps on running properly - I couldn't give a damn about my number plate except for that annual moment when I pay for registration renewal. As a reseller the domain part of my business is not a big deal - I do it as a service to my clients, not because it's central to my revenue. What I want to protect, though, is my other business income - websites, hosting and other on-line services that my registrar can now decide he wants to take away from me. Not because he's earned the right, and not because he's developed any relationship with my client or given them any service, and not because he's competed fairly - he can solely because I'm compelled to hand over my customer to my registrar who is now my competitor. I fully endorse the protective measures that were put in place for registrants. I don't endorse the fact that resellers are now nonentities.
