| There are only 4 Routable subdomains to .au back to the 13 legacy root | servers currently. This is not to say that they are "Official" or | "Authorized" crom within Australia, rather that the DN's registered under | other subdomains/subnets to .au are not visible globally. It us truly amazing that someone who obviously knows so little about how the DNS actually works can continue to pretend to make comments about DNS issues. The root servers (nb "THE ROOT SERVERS" there is no "legacy" in there) know only the servers for AU. That's all they're required or expected to know. Anything else that happen to know is gratuituous and unnecessary. The AU servers provide information about the sub-domains of AU, not the root servers. All of the root servers correctly know the servers for AU. All of the AU servers correctly know the servers for all of the sub-domains of AU. All of .AU is visible globally (from any part of the internet correctly configured to reference the root servers, anyone attempting to use any other operational implementation of the DNS is entirely on their own). kreReceived on Sun Jun 21 1998 - 21:21:26 UTC
