I took this to mean that the amount of *new* registrations is less than previously? Yes, sure, "there are 2,467,670" **MORE** "names over 10 months which is an 11.5% increase." however, for the same period 12 months prior, is the number 12 months ago significantly more than 2.4 Million NEW registrations for the same 10 month period? -----Original Message----- From: Jon Lawrence [mailto:jon§jonlawrence.com] Sent: Wednesday, August 06, 2003 9:20 PM To: dns§lists.auda.org.au Subject: RE: [DNS] media release Maybe, and the .com space has declined in total size over some quarters in the last few years but that was primarily due to mass deletions of names that were given away & never renewed. The release spoke about registrations declining, of which there is no evidence that I am aware. As I said below I don't disagree with the thrust of this release, just the claim that .au is growing while .com isn't. jon >-- Original Message -- >Reply-To: dns§lists.auda.org.au >From: "Sean Finn" <sean§teknol.com.au> >To: <dns§lists.auda.org.au> >Date: Wed, 6 Aug 2003 21:05:59 +1000 >Subject: RE: [DNS] media release > > >could it possible be read that the Percentage of increase is declining? > >e.g. 15% growth last year, and 11.5% growth for same period 12 months l8r? >-Sean. > >-----Original Message----- >From: Jon Lawrence [mailto:jon§jonlawrence.com] >Sent: Wednesday, August 06, 2003 8:44 PM >To: dns§lists.auda.org.au >Subject: RE: [DNS] media release > > >>the changes in naming policy have >>led to this growth at a time when, in global domain name spaces such as >>.com, registrations are declining' said auDA CEO, Chris Disspain > >Um, .com is declining?
