I think there should be some investigating, the only logical explanation I can see is that the company may have bought the names on behalf of customers and will transfer them upon payment. The 2 day window makes it difficult for a company with say 100 customers to contact them all and then gather all the contact details and abn's/acn's etc in that time. But if it company intends to keep all the names and does deprive a legitimate domain customer then I think there is grounds for transfer away from them.
