Hello, I am bewildered as to why redelegation notifications are now being withdrawn by Melbourne IT. Following is Melborne ITs response to our query. How are we as an ISP supposed to know that requests are being made to redelegate our customers domains elsewhere. We require this to obviously update our DNS when appropriate, or contact our customers in situations where we feel they may have been duped by a fast-talking webhosting company who knows nothing about the way DNS operates. Do other registrars previously/currently notify the authoritative nameserver that a redelegation request is in progress? >Melbourne IT Reseller Support wrote: > > > Hello Craig, > > > > Since July 1 2002 and the new .au regime of auDA / AusRegistry > notification is not sent in relation to a change in the delegation of .au > domain names. > > > > However, all DNS details are now pubicly displayed via the whois > information. > > > > The only way to be across current DNS settings and changes to those > settings under the new system is to check these details by performing a > whois search. > > > > Kind Regards, > > > > > Melbourne IT Reseller Support > > > > Email : reseller§melbourneit.com.au > > Site : www.melbourneit.com.au > > Offices : Melbourne, San Francisco, Madrid Regards Shane Clayworth CEInternet Helpdesk http://helpdesk.ceinternet.com.au http://www.ceinternet.com.au Technical: 1800 240 272 Sales: 1800 22 22 56Received on Fri Oct 03 2003 - 00:00:00 UTC
