Staff don't need to be paid? You are talking to someone who currently handles over 250,000 hostnames and those are growing at a rate of about 1450 a week. I know the costs involved. DNS is not that expensive. We provide our hostnames for free and have done for 3 years. If we can manage it, I don't see why others need so much money to do the same thing.
