250,000 domain owners acted in good faith, believing that their details would not be made available to whoever came up with a good enough excuse according to the legal acuity and common sense of one Mr. Chris Disspain. Not good enough! That data should be unavailable, fullstop, short of a court order. There does not need to be a process, or does Mr. Disspain have shares in Macromedia? Hi Harry & Neale Whilst I firmly believe that Chris Disspain acted in good faith in this instance, there are people "out there" who may take advantage of any system. I say that, of course, to flag the idea of "safeguards" without meaning any reflection on Macromedia's mailing activities. It seems to me that policy guidelines need to be clearly defined and (preferably) simple. They also need to be transparent. Chris understands that very well. As Chris has indicated that he "will look into establishing a process to deal with such matters in the future", I am sure your input into the formal process is most valuable. Thank you.
