Hi I would like to make a request to connect.com.au to those that administer the .net.au domain name application process. Is there any reason why the script that checks for the existence of a AUNIC Handle uses the whois gateway, rather than the AUNIC Name Status Report that INA uses. The reason is that the whois database is updated infrequently, causing newly registered AUNIC Handles to not be visible for some days. This causes .net.au applications to be put on hold for som days unnecessarily while the AUNIC whois database waits to reload.
