Folks, I have to say that I think this sort of post is unacceptable. A more constructive approach would be to explicitly state what sorts of service and performance indicators for that service are desirable, rather than simply slinging off at an individual. This helps nothing towards gaining the desirable outcome that is "requested(?)" within the post. We need to determine what *exactly* is broken about the current systems, rather than using fora, like this one, to have a go at those with the existing responsibilites. Furthermore, it also does not express what evidence there is of technical hitches, nor of what has been done to determine that there are no obvious technical hitches! [thank you George] So, so that I don't appear to be just as bad, this person is saying that s/he has attempted to register a domain name in the *.org.au name space and found an unacceptably high turn around time. What is therefore acceptable? Two hours? Two days? 7 days? How should the domain first be propagated? Simply by the requisite two dns hosts? Or via a central cache? What sort of infrastructure is necessary to ensure sound registration processes? What sort of business processes? All electronic with an ecommerce registration. (hey, I can recommend a cool SmartPay TM system :) I think you get the idea... C'mon folks, let's not implode now - the end is in sight... Oh, and I don't think it is stuffed, actually, *.optus.*.au works fine as does everything in *.edu.au I ever had anything to do with... though come to think of it there was a problem with something in the rno.net.au namespace once upon a time... but nswrno.net.au always seemed to work... hmmmm Cheers Narelle -- Narelle Clark ph: +612 9342 6503 Technical Specialist fax: +612 9342 7766 Technology & Planning Optus Communications narellec§optus.com.au ----------------------#include-std.disclaimer--------------------- vicc§cia.net.au wrote: > just how long does it take to get a delegation request > through the .org.au process?
