This could bring in several hundred million dollars to a TLD registry. I noticed that some of the obvious names do not yet have .AU registrations: att.au disney.au ibm.au mcdonalds.au microsoft.au <....several million more omitted...> What does Australia plan to do in October ? Do you plan to ignore hundreds of millions of dollars in potential revenue INTO Australia ? Do you plan to ignore the jobs that will create ? Also, what about the .AUSTRALIA TLD ? Will the .AU TLD be so limited that people migrate to other TLDs ? What is the point of having a TLD if it is not developed ? If it is not developed then the free market forces will eventually route around it and it will become irrelevant. Is that what people want for .AU ?
