The peak DNS self-regulatory body must begin with getting key players bought into the framework. This is critical to funding. ADNA will continue to go nowhere without funding for an office, a CEO, CTO and administrative services. With ADNA spending money, it will create accountability, of which there is precious little at the moment. So where does the funding come from? A voluntary per-name fee from the existing commercial SLD registrars? The Government? Generous sponsors? I suspect that new registrars would contribute financially only if convinced of the prospect of new SLDs, which will only get delegated to a body that has the support of the community.
