This may be news to you, but all the board members of ADNA
invest their time on a voluntary basis.  Surprisingly, noone
gets paid for their expert contributions to the DNS mailing
list either.

However, this doesn't stop many experienced people from
putting their time in anyway.  I guess Steve was just hoping
you might be willing to do the same.
