Explicit statements have been made to >the contrary. A great many statements have been made by a great many people, about all sorts of things. My understanding is that the suggestion that ISOC-AU run the .AU namespace was made at one of the DNS Forum meetings. I have no doubt that some ISOC-AU Directors and members felt that ISOC-AU was an appropriate body to handle governance of the .AU namespace. It's a diverse world, no doubt some people feel that way still! However, there is a big difference between an idea floated at a discussion forum and the stated (and built into its Memorandum of Association) aim of an incorporated body. Perhaps it's time that ADNA realised that ISOC-AU is in the enviable position of not having to prove a darn thing! It isn't ISOC-AU that is laying claim to the entire .AU namespace - it's ADNA. ADNA, not ISOC-AU, has something to prove. So far, the proving consists of attempts to discredit and marginalise its critics rather than answer their criticisms.
